Bristol is the next stop on my tour of the UK with Specifi
So far I have been to Edinburgh and London to speak as a keynote on green infrastructure in the Urban Realm.
The event in Edinburgh on June 15th was well attended. I enjoyed talking afterwards to a variety of people, including a good twitter friend Rebecca Wade about her work in Scotland on Sustainable Water and GI. I also enjoyed talking to Peter Dunmow of HEPLA regarding the challenges of creating heather green roofs in the Highlands.
What I like about the Specifi events is the mix of talks (me!) networking and exhibitors. Hopefully more of the GI soft landscaping companies will join the party. There is also an excellent meal afterwards where even more talk and discussions can be had.
I haven’t been to Bristol for awhile and considering it was the green capital of Europe last year, I don’t think there is much green roof and wall activity going on in the City. Hopefully the Specifi event will stimulate discussion and action. The event is on July 7th 2016 at Bordeaux Quay. I will be providing a seminar and am looking forward to the three course meal and maybe a beer afterwards with delegates.
