Green Roof – Elliot County

The small green roof we built on the Mall in DC back in late June has found a new home in Elliot City, Maryland. The constructio followed the principles in our e-guide and those we teach people on our DIY green roof training courses. I blogged about the Mall event and construction in an earlier post. It was always Blanche’s intent that both the living roof brown roof green roof structure and the Roundhouse she built would find permanent homes and not be ‘disposed’ off. Up stepped the Clark Elioak Farm in Elliott City. They took down the roof and transported it their farm. It is now up and the public can come to visit it. The roof seems from the pictures to be really flourishing and they have built a small platform so people can get up and ‘feel’ the roof. The roof with a picture featured in the Howard County local newspaper as well. Great stuff and good to know that the roof will be hopefully entice people to create one themselves.
Wish Clark Elioak Farm all the best and hopefully will pay a visit in October!
