LESSER SPOTTED WOODPECKER

I was to be honest concerned that i was imagining this. However the bird continued to call throughout the morning and by 10.00 it was perched high on the lime opposite my window. A LSW.

Was with pleasure when visiting Justin’s green roof viewed a couple of Goldfinches settled on the hazels on the lower roof. I think a bit of courting was going on roof.
When the roof is fully greened out perhaps they and the house sparrows will be feeding on the roof….
